With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, many people have already made reservations at fancy restaurants in order to spoil their loved ones. If you haven’t already done so, or would rather spend a romantic day at home, here are some tips to get you rolling:
- Create a simple dish that you will be able to do well. Trying anything radical and fancy may flop and leave you with just toast and tea for supper.
- Some simple dishes include, roasted chicken, pasta, lasagne, grilled fish, or a delicious soup.
- Desserts are definitely the way to go on Valentine’s Day and you could create something delectable with a few easy ingredients! You could opt for chocolate covered strawberries, or even cream-cheese filled strawberries. You could also make a simple yet delicious chocolate cake, or create cupcakes with a simple iced message on top. Heart-shaped cookies are also another favourite with many.
- Pancakes (because you can have pancakes at any time of the day) topped with a chocolate sauce heart or romantic message.
Nothing says “I love you” more than a hot meal created from scratch by a loved one. All the time and effort that goes into making the meal is more special than simply making a reservation at a restaurant. So go the extra mile this Valentine’s Day and cook a meal at home for your special someone!
